Warmest welcome!
In my Welcome page, you will get to know a little bit about me, my background, and my interest.
I love science & technology and any related topics. Any thing about science excites me, and recently, I am captivated by political economy and international relations.
Looking over my life, I strongly believe in education. The influence of a good education and a leader is far more than what people call smartness. I am fortunate to have great teachers who have taught me so much more than just textbook knowledge. During the pursuit of my goals in life, I received motivations, support and accompaniment from friends and family. The greatest of all of them was my mother who supported me in getting higher degrees. No doubt I’m indebted to many people in that regard.
I love to inspire and empower youth to acquire education - despite the challenges they might face - through public speaking, mentoring program, and social projects. I have mentored many high school students and college students for the past 5 years and many achieved their personal goals in life. If you would like to be mentored, shoot me an email and we can work out the details.
I enjoy working with smart and motivated people. If you are a school coordinator and looking for someone to teach or plan a few classes for your students during the weekend, I’d be more than happy to help you (specially for a public school around Atlanta). My time is very limited, but I won’t lose the chance to know a few more bright students.

Education
Ph.D. Candidate, Chemistry
Georgia Institute of Technology 2014- Present I have to complete three steps before I can earn a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Georgia Tech. Step 1 was the literature exams (a.k.a. quals) which I passed in Spring 2015. Each literature exam consisted of 3-5 publications selected by the professor and any questions can be asked not only from the particular papers but anything in the field. Each exam are scored from 0-4 and I have to obtain a cumulative score of 16 to pass. Step 2 was the Ph.D. proposal which I completed in Spring 2016. During the proposal, I had to convince five professors that my research could make a significant contribution to my field and that I had a clear plan for completing my research. Basically, I have proven that I am smart enough (quals) and have good enough ideas (proposal) – now, I just have to deliver on those good ideas. B.S., Chemistry; B.S. Biology Jackson State University 2011-2014 I spent most of my time as an undergraduate searching for any way to learn about biology and chemistry. During my undergraduate studies, I was fortunate to be involved in numerous research project. I worked on breast cancer research where I investigated the cytotoxic effect of Vernonia amygdalina extracts in ER+ vs ER- breast cancerous cells, consciousness research where I produced a computational model of the horizontal focal planes that bisect the mid-sagittal plane, nanochemistry research where I synthesized and developed multifunctional Graphene Oxide for targeted detection and therapy of cancer. |
